The Society Wrapped Up 2023 with a Joyful Christmas Drop-in

On December 14, the Huguenot Society of South Carolina hosted a Christmas Drop-in at its headquarters in Charleston, SC. Over a hundred visitors attended the event which was hosted from 3pm-7pm. Members, prospective members and guests were welcomed and all enjoyed celebrating the year. The gift shop was open and holiday gifts were sold. Each guest was given a Huguenot Society Christmas ornament to brighten their tree this year. It was a most joyful gathering and such a lovely way to bring a busy year to a close. We look forward to our events planned for 2024 and sharing the joy of Huguenot ancestry with as many as we can. Merry Christmas to all and a very Happy New Year!

Terry and Linda Smith

The menu included a signature sweet proivded by Society member Linda Gillette who prepared a miniature Huguenot Torte in a crispy filo shell in a bite size portion. Topped with a bit of whipped cream, this sweet delight was a big hit at the party. The featured beverage was the much loved Huguenot Punch and the punch bowl was just about empty by 6:30pm. And, the charcuterie board was well enjoyed with its savory and sweet options.

Our Signature Sweet

Thanks to Linda Gillette, guests were able to enjoy this delicious Huguenot Torte in bite size portions. Some took home a few extra to enjoy later! Our special thanks to Linda for creating this delight for our guests.

Chartcuterie Tray

Featuring a delicious assortment of cheese, meat, sweet and savory items, this was a popular tray throughout the party.

Huguenot Punch

It wouldn’t be a holiday party without this traditional punch served with an ice ring in a cut glass punch bowl. This sets the tone for the entire table with its rich red color and deep wine flavor with just a touch of sparkling to it. It was well enjoyed!

Our guests all enjoyed visiting with old friends and fellow members.

Thank you to all who could attend! Come see us in 2024.
